Consistency is Key
Over the past few months I have been incorporating a few new habits into my life. I have written about one, which is doing a daily reflection before I go to bed. I have also been writing a blog post every day. I have also launched a podcast with a friend of mine. Go check out Tara & Miranda: The Podcast!
I have been involved in personal development work for a long time, but I honestly have been amazed at how consistency breeds so many wonderful things.
The first is how it builds momentum! That part is super exhilarating for me.
The second is how quickly each thing has become a part of my identity, and how I strive to do my best in each area and show up ready to go.
The third is something I have heard in the past, but just didn’t realize why it’s so true.
To paraphrase: Consistency matters because not everyone will be consistent.
As someone that is looking to make change in the world, this is something that I knew was true. And as I stick to my habits, I realize that it is hard work!! Showing up every day is not easy. It’s not fun (at least not all the time). And it requires a mindset that pushes you to keep going, even when you don’t feel like it. The other weird part is it requires pretty clear boundaries as well, which become more clearly defined as time goes on.
Consistency is not for the faint of heart. But the payoff is so worth it! The confidence I feel every day is priceless.
